In the trees’ trunk there are chiefly 3 sections:
The heartwood – This part tends to be inactive physiologically.
The sapwood – Here, all storage and conduction happen.
The bark – The job of the bark is to protect the tree trunk’s interior.

The Kinds of Trees
There are chiefly two chief kinds of trees:
Hardwoods and softwoods – They have separate internal structures. A coniferous tree is a softwood and it has got vertical cells that are tracheids. They are 2-4 mm long and nearly 30 μm wide-ranging. These cells get utilized for conduction and support. Additionally, they have got an open channel besides a thin cell wall.
Parenchyma – These are called storage cells and are found in a radial direction. An instance of a softwood tree is Scots pine. Scots pine that is created from micrographs of sections are cut in the transverse, radial, and tangential planes, and they are known as hardwoods.
Commonly, the vertical cells present in hardwood are fibers and they tend to be 15 μm wide and 1-2 mm long. They emerge as thick-walled and with very thin central channels that provide support.
These cells happen to be inappropriate for conduction and so, a tree requires vessels in this condition. Commonly, vessels are phloem that is known as live cells. They transport energy sources that the plant makes. The vessels tend to be xylem too and they are dead cells that do the job of carrying minerals and water.
The vessels tend to be 0.2-1.2 mm long. They remain stacked vertically for forming tubes that are lesser than 0.5 millimeters in diameter. A hardwood also has very small numbers of tracheid cells. Still, parenchyma cells remain present for storage radically. Both greenheart and balsa wood are instances of hardwoods.
