While making your write-ups you might have thought that what is an appendix exactly because many students get confused between the appendix and index. An appendix in write-ups is not essential for your essay or the write-up but it helps in the analysis of the topics that you have written. An appendix is a part written at the last of the report while the index is the part that has topics written at the start of the report. The index also contains page numbers available after the name of the topic while the APA appendix may or may not involve page numbers in it.

The appendix is the text that is not related to the topic but the index is related to the topic. You can write an appendix in a paper with some guidelines that are available below.

While writing your appendix make sure that you find out or get the information that is not that important for your findings but strongly supports your report. You can involve some part of your support information in the body but the clear and detailed information regarding the supporting will be available in the appendix.

Do not mention any information that is semi-related to your topic. Make sure that whatever information you provide should contain the information that is related to the topic of our report. There is no limit to the information that you should add in the appendix.
